1. Find your fit
Match the ship on your booking to the provider’s verified coverage list. Check the device you will actually bring: it must support the eSIM product and be unlocked for another provider. Compare data allowances and validity against your sea days.
2. Understand your plan
Before paying, read the final price, activation trigger, installation deadline, onboard coverage restrictions and refund conditions. Quantity means separate eSIMs with independent allowances, not a shared family data pool.
3. Install over reliable internet
Follow your provider’s instructions while you still have a reliable connection. Installing an eSIM and starting a plan’s validity are different events; the exact product determines what activates the plan. Save your instructions for offline use.
4. Connect when supported
Select your cruise eSIM for mobile data only when the supported network is available. Apply that eSIM’s roaming and APN settings exactly as instructed. Disable automatic switching to your home SIM and turn off its data roaming.
5. Make a separate plan for port days
Arrange a suitable land connection if needed. Keep track of which SIM is selected for data. Calls and texts on your home line may still incur carrier roaming charges even when a different eSIM supplies data.
